Can Dave Grohl do anything wrong? From Nirvana to Foo Fighters to backing up rock legends and now directing the highly acclaimed documentary, "Sound City", about the LA studio about the golden age of digital rock and roll where many a classic album was recorded. Tonight, Dave and his band (made up largely of Food Fighters) The Sound City Players will perform with Stevie Nicks on Late Show with David Letterman on CBS at 11:35 AM. I'm hoping they do "Gold Dust Woman" which was one of three songs they played last night at the "Sound City Celebration" concert which also featured John Fogerty, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Rick Springfield (yes, that Rick Springfield), Lee Ving of Fear and others. You can read about that show in the Rolling Stone review HERE. And here is the trailer for the "Sound City" movie:
Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”
