Tonight, check out up-and-coming lush pop (alt R&B?) singer Jessie Ware on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon at 12:35 AM on NBC. She's been nominated for "Best Breakthrough" and "Best Female" at the Brit awards as she hails from Great Britain and they quite like her there.
Also, check out this article in Rolling Stone on the "10 Most Annoying Concert Behaviors". These lists pop up every so often and it's always the same stuff. Not sure if its the same annoying people or if we just get a new batch of annoying people as kids hit concert-going age. I most agree with #9 and #10. As I'm always trying to find videos for the weekend blog, I have seen countless crappy iPhone videos, which look like they were filmed through a slit in the wall, are shaky, and sound like crap. Please stop, people. And I've expounded on sitting people who yell at standing or dancing people to sit down. Unless its an acoustic or exceedingly mellow show, people go to concerts to dance and feel the experience like you can't at home. If you want to sit on your ass while the band is rocking out, wait for the concert video or stay home and watch the crappy iPhone videos from the show on YouTube the next day.
Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”
