You can watch the Hangout Festival webcast this weekend, live from the beach in Gulf Shores, AL. The webcast is being run by MTV, who can't get anything music related right anymore. The webcast is running smoothly but I can't find a schedule past today's schedule and the act on now, Ingrid Michaelson, isn't even on the schedule. That being said, every year I think how much I would like to go this festival and hang out on the beach listening to great music. Today's schedule has Dawes (4:55), The 1975 (6:15), Queens of the Stone Age (YES! 8:30) and STS 9 (10). Playing over the rest of the weekend but not guaranteed to be on the webcast: Black Keys (got my tix today for their show on 12/6 at Richmond Coliseum), The Killers, Outkast, Jack Johnson, Avett Brothers, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips (will Miley Cyrus show up with them?), Amos Lee, Conor Oberst, Tegan & Sara (everything is awesome!), Fitz & The Tantrums, Gary Clark Jr., Los Lobos and more.
Tonight on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (NBC, 11:35 PM), watch English alt-pop-rockers, Elbow. They'll do their new single "New York Morning". They've sold out most of their North American tour. Here they are filing "Grounds for Divorce":
Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”
