Tonight, I've got two. Couldn't pass up Late Night with Jimmy Fallon's "Best Musical Sketches" tonight on NBC at 12:35 AM. Jimmy is in full on "Best of" this week before he disappears when the Olympics starts, then reappears as host of Tonight Show and Seth Myers takes over Late Night.
Over on Conan (the deposed Tonight Show host. Curse you, Leno!) on TBS, the talented and beautiful Americana artist Neko Case will play a tune for you. She'll be performing with Calexico, which is kind of cool. They also played on her latest, well received, and long-winded titled album, "The Worse Things Get, the Harder I Fight, the Harder I Fight, the More I Love You". She was also on Prarie Home Companion this past Saturday. Listened to a chunk of that show but missed the part where she was on. They should have it posted on the Prarie Home archives soon. Here's the lyric video for "Night Still Comes" from her latest album with the long name:
Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”
