This is going to be a short one for two reasons:
1. There isn't much going on musically this week.
2. My wife is out of town at a conference (Chicago, lucky her) and I am watching the two kids alone which leaves precious little free time, at least before the weekend starts.
Check out country-folk superstar (at least in my book) Mary Chapin Carpenter tonight at the last Groovin' In the Garden of the summer. This Groovin' is at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, General Admission Lawn tix are $30 in advance, $37.50 at the gate and the gates open at 5:30, music starts shortly thereafter with a guest TBA. Here's MCC and New Orleans zydeco band Beausoleil doing "Down at the Twist & Shout":
There is a new Muppet Movie coming out at Thanksgiving which looks awesome, I really can't wait, and to celebrate they have released "The Green Album" with current bands covering songs made famous by the Muppets. OK Go continues their string of great videos with their cover of "The Muppet Show theme" which references both the old Muppet Show and OK Go's previous videos. Enjoy!
Finally here is my mostly daily Late Night Pick of the Night. Drum Solo Week 2 continues on the Dave Letterman show with funk/jazz drummer Dennis Chambers. Check it out tonight on CBS at 11:35 PM.
That's it! See you next week or check back in daily.

Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”
