Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "And though I tried with all of my sadness, you know that I have still never weep / For a man who looked to me like he died laughin' in his sleep / Singin' a train song, drinkin' a-one last round / We made 'em leave his boots on, on the day they laid him down / He was a runaway locomotive out of his one track mind" - Todd Snider, “Play a Train Song”

Late Night Pick of the Night: Freddie Gibbs & Death
Let's head out to the fringes tonight on Last Call with Carson Daly at 1:35 AM on NBC. Two acts on there tonight. The first is new gangsta rapper Freddie Gibbs who the LA Times says "boasts the rare ability to be both crude & refined." Then, check out proto-punk band Death. They were formed by three brothers who hail from Detroit in 1971 and broke up in 1977 after making some much-lauded proto-punk music that few people had heard. Flash forward to 2009 when their music is released on a new label and two of the brothers (one had died) reform the group to get the acclaim that had eluded them the first time around.
