Supporting music in Richmond since 2000 - "Hello, my love, I heard a kiss from you / Red magic satin playing near, too / All through the morning rain I gaze, the sun doesn't shine / Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind / In the garden, I see, west purple shower bells and tea / Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green / Pretty music, I hear, so happy and loud / Blue flowers echo from a cherry cloud" - The Brothers Johnson, “Strawberry Letter 23”

Use Your Brains! Donate to WRIR!
Tonight on Handful of Brains (originally aired 4/21 7 – 9 PM on WRIR 97.3 FM Richmond Independent Radio), it’s the usual eclectic mix of music featuring Sonic Youth, Counting Crows, Retirement Party, Courtney Marie Andrews, American Aquarium & more.
But more importantly, it’s our Spring Fall Fund Drive! Please donate to WRIR at https://www.wrir.org/station/donate/. Pictures of the cool premiums are at the web site in the previous sentence if you can swing it. But no donation is too small (and no donation is too big, either!😄) Your donations help keep us on the air, keep the equipment running, keep the lights on. We are all-volunteer, so every dollar goes to the station. Your donations also help create the sense of community that WRIR brings to RVA, especially right now. When I’m on the air, I feel like I’m talking to my friends and connecting with you for a couple of hours a week. I feel the same listening to the other DJs, as I sit alone in my apartment or in the car. They play the cool music they found for me and I can feel RVA grooving to it, too. They help me discover new bands, new songs, new genres. And in a way, it’s the sound of RVA. This is not the same music you hear on every commercial station, being chosen by a guy in an office in NYC. This is music from DJs from right here in town, sharing the music they have a passion for and hoping to turn you, the listener, on to it. Please donate to help keep us going and turning you on.
PLEASE NOTE: You can donate at any time, even after the fund drive is officially over, and you can still get the premiums while they last!
