Late Night Pick: Robert Randolph, Emeli Sande

Tonight on Tavis Smiley on PBS (check Tavis' site for local times) check out interviews with extraordinary steel guitar player Robert Randolph and singer-songwriter Emeli Sande. While Tavis' show does not always include a performance by the musical guests, the format does allow for the most in-depth interviews with the artists than any other late night show. Robert Randolph will be at FloydFest this summer out in Floyd, VA along with Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Lauryn Hill, Ray Lamontagne, Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Buddy Guy, and more.

Here's some recent music from both of the guests. Here's Robert Randolph and the Family Band in their show the other night at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester NY joined by Papa Mali on guitar, Eric Krasno (Soulive) on guitar and Bobby Keys (Rolling Stones) on sax.

And here's Emeli Sande doing "My Kind of Love" with The Roots on Jimmy Fallon:
