Tonight (Thursday) Gogol Bordello plays at Toad's Place. Doors open at 8, tix are $20 and the opener is Dusty Rhodes & The River Band. I didn't know much about these guys until I caught them on the Bonnaroo webcast this past weekend. They put on a crazy, manic show that looks like a lot of fun. They describe their music as gypsy punk which is a pretty good description. They incorporate violin and percussion into the music and have dancers who also play extra percussion. The lead singer looks like a drunk Frank Zappa who whips the crowd up in between swigs from his wine bottle. Here's a clip from their appearance on Letterman last July: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWYTyfQe-o8.

They put on an AMAZING show, dude. If you have tickets, you're in for a treat. If you don't, get some. :)
